dc.description.abstract | It is well-known that human beings have different kinds of biological characteristics and behavior. Some of them are appeared to be unique. These kinds of characteristic can be applied to identify a person. Authentication systems using biometric methods are, therefore, introduced in recent decades. Authentication system using biometric methods is not uncommon nowadays. There are various biometric methods applied in authentication system such as finger print, iris, retina, ear and so on. Finger print is the famous member in biometrics and its recognition algorithms have already been developed and are currently in reliable use. However, the research of biometrics is keep going. Lip feature is treated as an interesting topic for biometrics in recent years. In this project, the authentication system is exactly implemented by lip features. This authentication system is solely based on lip movement of uttering a password. Two kinds of factors are considered in this authentication system. They are password and uttering characteristics. Those two factors can increase the difficulty of imitation by imposters because they are not only required the client¡¦s password but also the uttering characteristic of the target client. In this project, the authentication system has been developed for several years. Most of main parts which required for a basic authentication by using lip features are in mature stage. For example, ASM and FCMS are already implemented in this authentication system. I need to make some performance improvement rather than invent or develop an authentication system for this existing person authentication system by using lip features. In this project, I will introduce some improvement for this authentication system. | en_US |
