Abstract: A table reservation system using Short Message Service (SMS) is designed for restaurants. It can handle registrations, queuing priority assignment and customer notification. The customer can make a reservation through the Web or by SMS messages. Then the system will acknowledge to this request and inform the customer the queuing priority via SMS. The customer can be free during the waiting period. When the table is ready, the system will notify the customer by SMS. All SMS communications are performed automatically by the system via mobile phone networks.
