dc.description.abstractIn recent years, most mobile phones support the Java technology (J2ME). This enables the development of multimedia and gaming applications for mobile phones. Especially, J2ME MIDP2.0 is enhanced to support the playback of video and better graphics. The aim of this project is to develop a Game Application using J2ME MIDP2.0 technology. The game would demonstrate the abilities of video playback and musical effects. Both of them can improve players' experience in game. This game application is called "BeatMobile" which is a musical game. Player can control a virtual music keyboard through the num pad. He can play the song based on the notes on screen. Pressing the buttons at the right time will generate tones and earn scores.en_US
