End-fire mode Hybrid Monopole/DR antenna for UWB is studied theoretically and experimentally. This antenna consists of a quarter-wave monopole antenna with an annular ring dielectric resonator antenna. Both monopole and DR resonate at lower frequency and higher frequency respectively. Meanwhile, DRA acts as a loading element on the monopole to obtain mid-band frequency matching. As a result, an ultra wideband response is achieved. Another parasitic patch is added to further widen the bandwidth of this antenna up to 8%. Also, Length reduction of the monopole antenna is also introduced.en
