Abstract: Since there is a large demand of universal contactless smartcard reader for handheld and mobile applications, my project aims at developing a universal CF contactless smartcard reader, the device driver and writing application programs to test the developed reader and secure the wireless network transmission. The reader has been built and tested for its portability and stability in real applications. Since this is a company project, the developed CF contactless smartcard reader can be launched to market for commercial purpose. Moreover, ECC + Triple DES Encryption Program has also been developed to provide a secure solution for wireless transmission. Besides this smartcard reader, the core part of this reader, CF-RS232 converter, can also be used to develop other CF interface devices other than the smartcard reader. Therefore, the potential commercial value for this project is very large.
