High gain antenna has been used for far distance wireless communication long time ago. The archery-target antenna, which is made in the project, is a directional antenna evolved from the short-backfire antenna (SBFA/SBA). It is not easy to build a SBFA with a gain larger than 17dBi. The archery-target antenna gives a solution for this problem. It can provide a higher gain than a typical SBFA. The aims of this project are 1)making a high-gain, low-profile antenna with a simple structure for easy production and 2)studying the characteristic of different design of archery-target antenna. To achieve the aim, L-probe is used since the gain is larger than other patch antenna. Also, small reflector, large antenna and annular reflector are used to increase the gain of the antenna. Experimental results including return loss, radiation pattern and gain of the antenna will also be presented.en
