| Abstract: | A new design of a single-feed circularly polarized slot antenna is proposed. Circular polarization (CP) radiation of this design is achieved by introducing two proper symmetrical cuts onto a cylindrical cavity. The line that joints the two cuts passes the center of the cylindrical cavity and makes an angle of 450 with the feeding probe. A commercial software package, Ansoft HFSS 8.5, is used to find the return loss, input impendence, axial ratio, and antenna pattern. Measurements were carried out to verify the simulations. It was found that the impedance bandwidth and the 3dB axial ratio bandwidth are about 20% and 3.5%, respectively. |
