Abstract: | The project aimed at implementing a vehicle tracking system which made use of a GPS receiver and a GSM-GPRS modem. The system was based on a development board with Arm920T CPU and an Embedded Linux was ported to run on this board. NMEA 0183 GPS signal was interpreted to obtain the current location which would be transmitted through GPRS to inform the Control Center. Dedicated commands were designed to be sent between the system and control center such that remote software update could be performed and the path of the vehicle could be traced. |
