| Abstract: | The objective of this research project is to propose a solution to handle multimedia data streams efficiently based on HISC architecture. The first step is to study current hardware solutions and the requirements of algorithms used in multimedia applications. Then a suitable set of instructions will be defined according to the above requirements, and the corresponding functional units will be designed and implemented using VHDL. Finally, performance analysis will be conducted and further enhancement in HISC architecture will be suggested. |
