Abstract: | Many domain of location information related to our daily live activities such as to find a specific location, public transport, domain population, building information, street information, restaurant information, hotel and tourist spot information …etc. Hong Kong is a very busy commercial city, we always need to search a seat location details whatever the position we placed and using which electronic resources such as a desktop computer through the web browser and the mobile device. We have the only target that intent to make our daily routines simplest and efficiently and increase our competitive ability in the city. Mobile Device is rapid developed in this few years and divided into two mainstreams – Pocket PC and Palm. The most popular mobile device we are using in the future depends on their reliability, expansibility, and familiarity. Seat position is difficult to define for different activities. It must a way to make this possible to have a well definition in our daily live activities. Location Information System is a Web-Based and Pocket PC based system with well definition to locate the seat information through desktop computer and mobile device. We are using the technology of Global Position System (GPS) which can help us to find geographic location. Location Information System enable user to enquire the different domains of location information through mobile devices and web systems, and to help user in further analysis with data mining techniques. The system need to communicate between Pocket PC and the GPS receiver. The problems intent to development a GPS system is information capture, we have investigate the GPS format in details and the communication methods and protocol using in mobile device. This project aims to develop two systems, one for the desktop environment and the other one for mobile environment. The desktop environment is a web-based Location Information System which allows user to add, change, delete information for a specific location, and search a specific domain of information in a geographic map. The mobile environment is an independent system that lets user to search a specific domain of information with aid from Global Position System (GPS) information. We also evaluate the system adaptation using web-base and mobile environment and test cases with different probably events and focus on the advantages of mobile device development. After this certain information in the system database, we have study the data mining techniques apply to this project. Mobile device is rapid developed in this few years and divided into two mainstreams – Pocket PC and Palm. This project introduce the practical experience using Pocket PC to development a software that help us to simplistic and efficient to find the different domain of information in our daily living needs and solve geographic location fix problems aids with Global Position System in a busy commercial city. We are using the electronic technology to locate the information that we are needs. We are intent to define an approach that can help us to find the shortest path to get update information through the mobile device. This project is practical software make our daily work more efficiency. |
