dc.description.abstract | Mobile gaming development is booming because of the hardware improvement of mobile phones make game playing feasible. However, most mobile games in the current market are standalone that without wireless network support. J2ME is a powerful tool and J2ME's Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) and Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) provide a highly portable and flexible platform for wireless applications for cellular phones. This project proposes a design and implementation of J2ME game called checkers, a turn based game with GUI components provided by MIDP with the support of WLAN which is based on the generic connection framework from the CLDC. | en_US |
