| Abstract: | Texture is an important topic because it can reproduce the realism of the physical
world. In this project, a simple, efficient algorithm is implemented for realistic texture
synthesis. This algorithm is easy to use and only requires a sample texture and a
random noise image as inputs. It synthesizes the noise image using fixed
neighborhood searching, and generates a new image of arbitrary size with appearance
similar to the sample texture. There are three methods to implement the algorithm
which are Single-resolution, Multi-resolution, which are based on Fast Texture
Synthesis by Wei and Levoy and a Multi-resolution partial searching algorithm is
proposed to speed up the synthesis process. Also, the algorithm is applied in some
applications such as photo editing and Texture Transfer. |
