dc.description.abstractThe system use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. RFID technology is commonly used in our daily life. RFID system has been widely used in variety type of applications such as inventory tracking, equipment tracking, supply chain automation, products identification, access control and security check. This project will focus on the modification and improvement of tradition RFID access control technology so as to create a hands-free access control system for library. Hands-free means that we don’t need to take out the RFID tag and put it on the RFID reader directly, even the RFID tag is inside the bag or pocket. To implements this ideal, the system must overcomes several problems arise from the lager transmitted power. First, the attenuation of received or transmitted signal cause by the blocking of the bag, pocket or human body. Second, the accuracy to recognize the RFID tag’s location for example to recognize which RFID tag is passing through the gate door and which particular gate should open the door. Final, because of the lager amount of RFID tag may use the same frequency to communicate simultaneously, that may cause collision problem. In this project, we will find out the possible solutions to achieve this task such as power compensation, space diversity and time division multiple access. Details of the system development are presented in this report.en
