For high/speed wireless data transmissions, a RF local oscillator (LO) with low phase/noise and high frequency/stability is required. However, in high frequency range, it is difficult to meet such requirements. Frequency multipliers provide a convenient means for converting a very stable low/frequency oscillator source to higher frequencies for LO applications. Frequency multipliers are used extensively for transmitting and receiving chains in modern communications systems. This project is focused on studying a “Doubler” (one kind of the frequency multipliers, with the output frequency at two times of the input frequency). Frequency multipliers can be implemented by active or passive/based devices. This project is aimed at the former device.en_US
