Today, there are many different kinds of Chinese input methods. Each method has its strengths and weaknesses and different people get used to different input methods. In this project, we have proposed a new Chinese input method named G6, which balances the typing speed, the learning difficulty and get optimization for everyone. It is a stroke-based input method with phrasal text coding ability. G6 uses at most six basic strokes represented by 1 to 6 number keys. The coding method is a combination of maximum 6 codes for a character. The coding space of G6 (61+62+63+64+65+66= 55,986) could provide sufficient spaces for encoding 6,500 Simplified Chinese characters and 13,500 Traditional Chinese characters. Detailed algorithm about the encoding method and coding pattern is explained in the paper. In addition, G6 learning tool kits have been introduced for beginners which include G6 web portal, G6 online input version, Flash Game and learning PowerPoint. In the G6 web portal, users can download the latest G6 version and access the G6 online version which is written in PHP language. For the G6 online input version users can input Chinese characters by using the G6 online version, which is suitable for the users without any Chinese input software installed.. Finally, the flash game is most interactive tool for the beginners to learn G6 input method in an efficient way.en_US
