Title: Light dimmer for compact fluorescent lamps
Authors: Sung, Kai Tak (宋啟德)
Department: Department of Electronic Engineering
Issue Date: 2008
Supervisor: Supervisor: Prof. Chung, Henry S H.; Assessor: Prof. Hui, Ron S Y
Description: Nominated as OAPS (Outstanding Academic Papers by Students) paper by Department in 2008-09.
Abstract: In this project, the ac-ac converter, which uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to control the output voltage, was created. This latest technique can be applied to control compact fluorescent lamps or other light devices. In order to improve the voltage and current stress, low loss snubber (approximated to soft switching) means is applied. Therefore, the produce can be compact and reduce the stress.
