Supervisor: Dr. Siu Timothy Y M. Assessor: Dr. Leung Andrew C S
Abstract: This report describes the work on the how to implement a Universal Programmable IR Remote Controller and describes the most widely use IR protocol that exist in the market. The implementation of the Universal Programmable IR Remote Controller both includes the hardware implementation on the programmer for microcontroller and the IR remote controller. While the software implementation includes the PC based software which is used to program the microcontroller and the assembly program which is used to control the microcontroller of the IR remote controller. For the description of the IR protocol, it will include the description of the carrier frequency, modulation and the most widely use protocol that exist in the market.
