Abstract: | Presentation is significance to human lives. According to Wikipedia.org, presentation is the ―process of showing and explaining the content of a topic to an audience‖ [1]. It is one of the important ways to communicate with each others in different places. In schools, professors give presentation to student on lectures. In most of the companies, staff presents their ideas to their colleague by presentation. Traditionally, overhead projectors or handouts are used as a visual aid of presentation. And now, software engineers designed a number of presentation software as a substitute. Presentation software is a tool for presenters to create visual slides which can includes text, image, sound, video and transitional effects. By using these slides, audience can take the advantage of the fact that most people learn best visually. And it helps to add interest to the presentation too. In recent years, by the rapid development of computer technologies and Internet, developers are trying to change the desktop application to the web-based applications for overcoming platform dependency, software maintenance, and disk storage problem. In this project, several current presentation programs as well as the current web technologies are evaluated. Result from the project shows a web-based presentation program called Pointer for providing better user experience of creating slide shows. |
