Abstract: The object size can be directly determined by measuring tools, such as rulers, tapes and wheels. With the popularity of smartphone, the built-in sensors and other advanced technologies on smartphone help build extraordinary and useful applications. This project makes use of the smartphone sensors to implement an Android application which can perform contactless measurement of object. User only needs to rotate his/her arm and walk with a short linear distance using the smartphone so that the device orientation and walking distance can be obtained by smartphone sensors. The trigonometric equations apply these data to calculate the object size for user.
