dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, PDA is becoming more and more popular due to its portability, multifunction and accessibility. Also, Smart Card technology is getting widely used because of its high security, fast access and portability. The aim of this project is to develop a low cost, secure and portable identification mechanism by using Microsoft Embedded Visual Basic 3.0. It will be built at Pocket PC (iPAQ) which is connected with a smart card reader (MIFARE). For the Server side application, it is developed by using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and run on a Desktop PC. In this project, standard of MIFARE Smart Card system, concept of Client-Server communication, protocols of communication through serial port (Com Port) as well as Internet (TCP/IP), and Database application (Access and SQL) will be studied and applied. | en_US |
