Abstract: | JAVA is a famous Object-Oriented programming (OOP) language and becoming popular in the industry. High Level Instruction Set Computer (HISC) is a new architecture to give hardware support on the OOP like JAVA. It extends the features of typical descriptor computer architecture and applies the object-oriented programming concept in hardware level. A 64-bit architecture machine calls Object-Oriented Descriptor Computer is designing which use the HISC computer architecture to enhance the running Java. Execution unit is the heart of a processor. Instruction is passed into and specified operation will be performed. The Execution unit of the Object-Oriented Descriptor Computer is to perform operation on primitive types of JAVA and support the OOP features in hardware level. In this project, we will discuss the design and implementation of the execution unit of a pipelining Object-Oriented Descriptor Computer target on JAVA programming. It is implemented with Xilinx Virtex XCV 800-6 FPGAs on a Nallatech Ballynuey Virtex PCI card. The aims of the project are providing the support of the operation on the primitive types on JAVA effectively and evaluate the performance and functionality with FPGA. |
