| Abstract: | The original form of particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm proposed by Kennedy, Eberhart and Shi has inherited the stagnation problem. The objective of this project is to investigate on improving the performance of PSO. In this project, several variants were proposed to address the problem and then tested on a set of benchmarks against some of the well-known variants found in literature. Experimental results revealed that the proposed variants have much better performance in terms of convergence. |
