Abstract

Online tutoring application is a rich internet application (RIA) which simulates a tutoring environment. Student and tutor can discuss their subject matter with a remote access on the web. This application is very like a web conferencing which provides chat interface for clients to communicate. But unlike a web conferencing, the ultimate purpose of this application is to create a familiar tutoring environment for student and tutor just like in reality. Therefore, instead of providing instant voice and audio chat, it also supports document share, shared whiteboard and poll creation. In such situation, students and tutor can communicate in voice and image in real time as well as interactive word and graphic file.
