This aim of this project is to develop an application, named "Sand Art" on the Apple iPad device. The popular iPad device has a giant 9.7 inch screen and it supports up to eleven multitouch interface which enables a perfect drawing experience to the end users. Thus, it can definitely be used to design the proposed project "sand art" application on this platform. There are three major parts in this application. 1) The first part is to implement a sand art application, including how to simulate the sand, how to draw on the iPad, how to select the color of the sand. 2) The second part is to use the user I/O such as implementing the multitouch interface, which is to investigate how to detect the touch coordination on the screen, and how to detect multiple fingers on the screen, how to detect the speed. 3) The third part is to handle the data management of the application, such as reading and saving the image or array into the file system of iPad. There are a series of problems arisen in this project, such as reducing the size of the saved image on the iPad device, the difficult to instantaneously detect the movement of multiple fingers without generate excessive data in the device, all of them will be explained carefully with the given proposed solutions in this project.en_US
