Context:Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition which is one of the main development tools for software packages does not provide an automatic test case generator for the user. Throughout the software life cycle, testing is a very important stage. So an automatic test case generator will save much time for the programmers or testers to do the automatic testing tasks. Objective:This project aims to develop a new strategy to select pair-wise testing cases for C++ programs. It will be implemented as an add-in testing function for Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition. Method:The new pair-wise testing strategy will make use of the unselected value pairs, and it will also take random selection into account. There will be some comparisons among the new strategy and the existing strategies at the end of this report. Results:The new strategy can help the users to select all the value pairs to satisfy the pair-wise coverage, and it can save time for the users to generate the test cases by themselves for C++ programs. All the generated test cases are randomly selected based on the measurement of the unselected value pairs. Conclusion:In conclusion, it is effective to use the add-in program to generate the testing codes for C++ programs, and it is also useful for the testers or programmers to implement to testing codes by themselves to use the add-in program to generate the test cases for other programs.en_US
