Abstract: Outdoor fieldwork learning is one of the learning ways to motivate students learning outsides classroom. However, only a few teachers take fieldwork learning as their teaching strategy as they face problems in organizing field trip and setting the learning outcomes. To solve such problems, a Mobile Outdoor Fieldwork Learning System is developed that students can freely walk along the field site and easily retrieve the learning task information. Teachers can easily organize the field trip and make changes in the learning goals. This project aims to develop a mobile application that integrated with GPS and Internet network. Students can make use of the mobile application to keep track of their location in the field site. The student walking log would be uploaded to the web for teachers to review their safety. In order to achieve the above aim, the project needs to investigate the difficulties and requirements of the project; to investigate fieldwork learning; and analyze and discuss related applications and technologies. Besides, design process and system architecture would be discussed. After that, the implementation of essential functions of the system would be presented. Finally, this project has to test the system; and to evaluate the achievements, limitations and further developments on the system.
