Abstract: Using the kinect device to detect the head level of a person in the sensor's field of view. (x,y,z) coordinate of the head can be found in skeletal viewer. In order to prevent the privacy issue, only skeleton of the person is displayed. If the floor of the environment is captured by the camera, floor plane equation with certain coefficients is determined. After putting the head coordinates to the equation, a vector and even the distance between the head and the floor plane are found. If the head level of the person is drop from high level to ground level for a period of time like 1 minute, the values of vector and distance become very small and lower than the threshold, the counter starts to count, and the system will automatically generate SMS and Email to a respondent party after counting round 1 minute. For single elders, when they slip on the floor, the system immediately generate SMS and Email to a respondent party, the party can call the single elders at once, take the appropriate action in order to prevent and avoid any accident.
