Abstract: | Handwriting is an important tool for us to express ideas. However, due to the popularity of computers and mobile devices, people are used to input Chinese characters by tapping keyboard rather than handwriting, this could indirectly bring drawback in our personal handwriting with less practices. Regarding to this problem, a wide variety of mobile applications have been developed to tackle the problem of writing ability degradation. However, most of them focus on teaching how to write the Chinese words correctly and only few study on improving handwriting performance. Therefore, our application is developed on the most popular smartphone platform, android, which aims at evaluating Chinese handwriting performance. It covers three categories, ranging from writing speed, stroke order accuracy and neatness of users' handwriting. It states users' deficiency and assists their improvement by providing learning history review. Most importantly, we hope to use our application to rouse the public concern on Chinese handwriting performance. |
