Abstract: | Orthognathic Surgery is a surgery on correcting the positions of patients' jaws or teeth. Before any operations, surgical planning is a must. Thus, a lot of surgical planning software is provided for physician while there are mainly two kinds of methods used in those programs, 3D modeling and 2D modeling. However, the current surgical software mainly provides 3D modeling and 2D modeling is neglected. Comparing with 3D modeling, 2D modeling can provide a low ram usage and fast processing. There has still a need in using the program with 2D images, for example National Dental Centre in Singapore and Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong In order to provide a free, fast and convenient program that can be used in current operating system, this project is going to re-engineer the software called "Computer-Assisted Simulation System for Orthognathic Surgery 2001" (CASSOS). |
