Abstract: | The proposed TDG will introduce Challenge Based Learning (CBL) for CA undergraduate with respect to material science / structural mechanic courses (BC2624, BC2625, BC2674, CA 2416, CA3632, CA4649 and CA 8006). Alongside traditional ways of program delivery like lectures, the students will work in teams on case studies in which realistic industrial problems are tackled. This form of education, known as CBL, is an engaging multidisciplinary approach to teaching and learning that encourages students to leverage the technology they use in their daily lives to solve real-world problems. Aligned with Discovery-Enriched Curriculum (DEC) by EDGE at CityU, innovative design cases of material (e.g. Polymer Foams used in Sport and the Health Service) will be proposed with intensive student participation. |
