Abstract: | basing on a new antenna named "Bowtie antenna" designed from Mingjian Li (0018-926X, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ANTENNAS AND PROPAGATION, VOL. 62, and NO. 3, MARCH 2014), an antenna array which includes 60 elements and has low side lobe is designed and fabricated. The working principle is the resistance of transmission line can be controlled and the power distribution of each element depends on the resistance. Theoretically, if the power distribution matches to the Chebyshev's method, the radiation pattern can be calculated and it will have a low side lobe. The working bandwidth of the antenna array covers 59-62 GHz unlicensed frequency band and the side lobe can reach -20 dB at 60 GHz. The cross-polarization level and back radiation is low. The antenna array is made on a single-layer printed circuit board so it is low-cost in fabrication and it is low-profile. |
