dc.description.abstractThis research paper deeply investigates a traditional market in Hong Kong - Shek Wu Hui. As located at the north of New Territories, near the border between Hong Kong and Sheng Zhen, this market becomes a sensitive term recently as the ever-worsening conflicts brought by the parallel goods exporters and the North East New Territories New Development Areas Planning. This paper will dig into the history of this Hui, understanding what this Hui brings to its residents. Later on, it investigates how this Hui is changing and its effect on the community. Thorough survey and interviews to local residents were conducted to look into the diverse viewpoints towards the current situation in the Hui and, finally to analysis the possibilities of alternative development plan.en_US
