|Abstract:||The aim of this project is to assist users to perform price tracking and purchase at a price where they regards is a best deal. The major factor to perform price tracking is to research and keep track of product prices. However, it is difficult to keep track of product prices without a specific tool. People have to check prices again and again due to price changes and forgetfulness. Furthermore, product price sources that provide clear product prices are branded stores or supermarkets. There have been new reports pointing out that some product prices shown in supermarkets may not be a fair deal at all when comparing the past prices and the discounted prices. At the same time, product price information from other sources are not freely accessible due to geographical restrictions and time cost. In order to provide users product price information, this app exists to help gather the information and assist users in making their decision in purchasing products at which time period. To tackle the problem, it is best that users are able to gain access to the pricings easily through using a mobile application from anywhere and anytime. In this application, a wish list is presented for users to store the items they want to track. When the product price has reached within the price set by the user, the user will be notified that the product they are interested have reached their desired price. To view current price of the product, users just need to enter the name of the product or capture the barcode using the camera and the information is shown. As for product price tracking, it is presented as a diagram to keep track of the overall price changes. They are able to obtain information such as the latest prices, the cheapest prices, the discount and gift details of the product. A price quotation form is provided for the users to add new products and quote prices for the products. With the price updates from user contribution, users are notified when a price update have lead to the product to reached their desired price. In addition, users are able to spread the word of a fair product deal they are interested to their friends and families through the social network so they are able to share the information. An offline mode is provided to let users view information of the wished products without an Internet connect. In the end, users are able to perform price tracking conveniently with the application and the whole price tracking process is selfsustainable with the contribution of the users.|
