Recent aviation incidents and accidents aroused public attention and motivated us to rethink about aviation safety. Considering the volume of aviation data accumulated since the very beginning, it is possible to visualise text-only data in a way that can be interpreted by people without acquiring much knowledge in a specific domain. In addition, by studying a large batch of data with data mining methodologies we may be able to figure out some common patterns that cause unwanted events. AeroSafe is a project that comprises two tasks: to (1) visualise relevant data onto an interactive map that offers public a brand new way to understand the distribution of incidents in accordance of time and location, and (2) to understand the common causes of unfavourable aviation events by looking at a large scale of textual information. It gives benefits to both individuals and aviation industry as it draws individuals’ attention to this matter while it also gives additional insights to understand more about this kind of catastrophe.en_US
