Abstract: Driving in Hong Kong is not an easy task at all. It is very easy to face traffic jam even when it is not in peak hour. Up to 2015, the total numbers of registered vehicles has already reached 550k. The number will only increase continuously in the future. This means that traffic jam will only become more and more serious. At the same time, traffic situation will become worse if there is heavy rain outside the street, it is better for us to know about if rainfall will affect the traffic speed and the traffic condition or not. Therefore, we aimed at develop an application, which can provide useful traffic information and predict traffic condition and speed with weather information for them. The Intelligent weather sensitive travel time predictor app is a mobile assistant that aims at providing real-time traffic information such as traffic speed, traffic condition for referencing, and weather related information to users such that users can check traffic and weather condition at the same time conveniently. In addition, a prediction model has been built up in order to make traffic prediction. Both traffic and weather data are integrated into a database. The result is then generated after the system has finish analyzing the data with factors like weekday, hour, is holiday or not, is rain or not, latest traffic speed, etc. We believe that the public can benefit from this project.
