Abstract: | For new technologies such as loT, it is vital that the security of the information transmitted be robust. To protect the data, which usually travel through unsafe channels, encryption is necessary. Therefore, the developers of this type of systems need tools that allow them to easily enforce security. For this reason, a cryptography library has been developed for Arduino in this project. The methods of data encryption and decryption rely on the distinct properties of chaotic systems, such as deterministic but random-like complex temporal behaviour, and high sensitivity to initial conditions and system parameters. The library has included a large class of chaotic maps with different dimensions to serve this purpose. The greatest advantage of chaos-based encryption is that maps employed are usually simple, meaning less memory and computational resources are required. Thus, the library developed in this project allows the efficient implementation of the security in Arduino-based systems using the resources this open source platform offers. |
