Abstract: | With the rapid development and commercial promotion of Virtual Reality technology, many people own their VR headsets, such as HTC Vive, Oculus Rift. However, since the VR technology is not yet well-developed and mature, it causes influences in people's lives when they are using it. For instance, users are inconvenient to control home appliances and understand the home situations because eyes are blocked by the headset as well as complicated VR headset wearing and removal. To solve the inconvenience of VR users, "Virtual Reality Intelligent Home Control" is developed to provide a better VR experience to the VR users. The main purpose is to allow VR users to control home appliances, check for outside notifications, and understand home situations and thus causes more convenience while still wearing the headset. Therefore, in this project, the application provides remote control for electrical appliances via WLAN, home situation by webcam streaming, outside information, such as smartphone notifications, local weather notification, to the VR users. Simultaneously, VR users can customize their Virtual Reality home and enjoy the virtual scenery by exploring the virtual-world within the application. For the future development, it includes background process implementation, messaging reply and Intelligent Personal Virtual Assistance development. |
