dc.description.abstract | Cloud-based Cross Platform Multiplayer Bike Simulator is a game which provides a realistic game experience to the players. Not only can this game be played with the keyboard or joystick on the smartphone, but also on a real bicycle. There are three venues provided in the game, including Tsuen Wan, Tseung Kwan O and Central. Also, the game is consisted with four modes, namely traffic mode, time mode, coin mode and multiplayer mode. Players are simulated as a cyclist riding on a bicycle in different venues and modes. In the beginning version of this game, I was required to design a bicycle game in condition of road safety in Tsuen Wan. At first, there was only one venue being provided in the game, and players can only play with the traffic mode at the same time. The game result of the players was being recorded, and there would be a certificate given for the player if he had fulfilled the requirements of the game. Through participating in this event, the children might gain more knowledge about the traffic rules of riding a bicycle. After the event, I have discovered several deficiencies in this game. Therefore, the game was being improved. I have added another two venues, which are Tseung Kwan O and Central, in order to increase the interest of the game. Furthermore, I have added another three modes for players, which are time mode, coin mode and multiplayer mode, with a view to avoid the game to be too boring for the players after they have played several times. In the final version, the game is able to provide a realistic, interesting game experience to the players. After finishing this project, I found that I have become capable to use Unity to develop a game. In this project, I have learnt more lore about the computer programming since Unity supports Java, C++, and C# scripts. For the future development, I hope that the game can be added a race mode which players can race with the artificial intelligence cyclists. Also, I wish to add more venues to the game, not just only focusing on the venues in Hong Kong. Moreover, a virtual reality function should be added since using virtual reality is a great trend nowadays. In this report, I will not include the details of coding in the game since there is a huge amount of coding for difference functions of the game. It is proposed to be in touch with the supervisor, Professor NG, K T for the required coding of this game. | en_US |
