Abstract: | With the rapid growing concern on reliability and security of data, copyright issue has been raised in the globe. To prohibit illegal content and protect the originality of data source, a well developed copyright detection scheme is needed. Seeing that the existing technology on copyright detection were mostly computer-oriented, the widespread use of image manipulation tools and the massive circulation of digital images over the Internet, a mobile app for copyright detection is, therefore, developed to ease the deficiencies and enhance both the convenience and efficiency. In this project, an iOS mobile app for copyright detection has been developed to favour the trend on increasing popularity of portable devices. Users could utilize the apps whenever and wherever they want as the mobile apps has been provided for instant checking of ownership and possible image tampering. Users could determine the rate of copyright violation by checking the similarity of watermark embedded in the image with the aid of the app. Watermark could be extracted and detected no matter the image is in alternate size, pixels, rotations, cropping, or being captured by different devices. New watermark embedment and modifications could be defined under the technology. Originality could thus be guaranteed. Percentage of similarity of the selected image to the user's image can be concluded under watermark checking. Starting by the background study on wave atom transform, image hashing and digital watermarking, together with the familiarization on programming platform and language, the project has followed by a series of programming, interface template designing, and case studying. The mobile app has been completed under testing. Testing result has shown the difference on percentage of similarity comparing with that of MATLAB, and the variance on watermark extracted in every single compilation. Case studies have been undergone by conforming the accuracy of detection under both with and without embedding watermark. As the mobile app is designed in iOS and as a template, the app can be further enhanced for reality usage, running with alternate embedding object, and developing an Android app with same functionality. Error correction method has been proposed as the addition of parity bit of a bit sum adder. The project has been completed with a basic mobile app interface template for copyright detection developed. The main functions are extraction and comparison, under the conversion of programming language from MATLAB to C under the trial of conversion to Java. Extracted array may vary in every compilation and images without embedding are of zero percent of similarity. |
