Abstract: Currently, when you want to buy a home, you can see a picture or video. Or design your house by designer only. In this project, I am trying to use a smarter way to solve it. Nowadays, the government wants to build a smart city in Hong Kong. So Hong Kong construction industry using BIM (Building Information Model) technology to build a Smart City. Building Information Model is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructure. In this project, I am going to use VR technology to display the BIM and allow the general public to interact with it. The user can design their home or look around a new building even though the building is not yet complete. I hope that Hong Kong Citizens can have a better understanding of the smart city and provide a smarter approach for designer and property developer. In the past, the building can represent by a blueprint only, now building can represent by a BIM though my application and interact with it. The general public may not understand how to read a blueprint. But my application can provide a 3D model for preview purpose which can be easily understood by the general public in few minutes.
