Abstract: | Since average lifespan is increasing a lot in this century, people begin to concern more about their health. Heart rate is one of the popular method for monitoring the body state. Instead of using traditional methods for checking, this project analyzes millimeter waves to sense heart rate. Wireless signal with 60 GHz frequency is used for transmission which provide a convenient way for people to observe especially for the elderly. Therefore, this technical device can improve their health. This project bases on transceiver ICs, HMC6000LP711E and HMC6001LP711E which contain antenna for detecting the heartbeat. The movement of heart pulses on wrist will be recorded. Further, the received signal will be investigated on a designed circuit. The operation principles and design procedures will be discussed in this project. By comparing different measured situations and circuit designs, the performance and limitations of using millimeter waves with this project equipment will also be considered. |
