Abstract: Drunk Driving is a common traffic problem in Hong Kong. According to the "Traffic Report 2016" published by Hong Kong Police, it showed that there were 201 traffic accidents of drunk driving in 2016[1]. It was about 1.1% of total traffic accidents that year which was 8% more than in 2014[1]. Therefore, drunk detection is necessary. The existing drunk detection techniques are breath alcohol test, blood alcohol test and urine alcohol test. However, they are not suitable for the common people to use themselves. Firstly, these tests are not convenient because the tests need some specific devices to detect drunk. Secondly, these devices cannot provide pre-warning function to the driver. In order to solve these problem, this project aims to develop an Android mobile application to provide drunk detection based on the Electrocardiography(ECG) signal which show the status of heartbeat. Android mobile application can be installed in not only mobile phone, but also car display with Android system. Additionally, there are many different devices which can detect heartbeat in the market, for example: Google wear. Thus, this method would be more flexible. And also, the drivers can raise the awareness of drunk themselves.
