Abstract: | This project is to design a small size mobile phone antenna. The design of the antenna is a hybrid loop/open-slot antenna. The size of the antenna is 7x40mm2 with a thickness of 5.8mm which can embed in most of the latest model smartphone. More space are left for other components on the phone. The antenna mainly comprised a capacitive fed loop antenna and an open-slot antenna created on the ground plane. This antenna can provide two wide band which can cover about 800-900 MHz and about 1700-3700 MHz. This is enough for covering LTE Low/Middle/High band. The hybrid loop/open-slot antenna will be fabricated and tested. Some more modified design will be simulated and get study. Trying to improve the performance of the small size hybrid antenna. Comparison with other kinds of mobile phone antenna will also be present in the report. Finally, this report will suggest and discuss about the future development of mobile phone antenna design. |
