Abstract: | Plant growth optimization using modern technology has been implemented into many indoor farming systems and result in high-quality plants. Indoor farming enables us to plant healthy and organic plants under insufficient land and food shortage problem. Although many indoor farming devices are existing on the market, advanced technology can take a more important role to aid the indoor plant growth. This project aimed to develop a smart indoor farming system which employed microcontroller and mobile phone for adjusting and monitoring plant growing environment. Fundamental growing environment, including lighting, temperature, soil moisture level, and watering are controlled automatically by the Arduino broad. By Bluetooth, a connection between an Android application and Arduino can be set for data transmission. So, real-time temperature tracking and manually lighting can be achieved. Furthermore, creative functions like automatic photo capture, soil pH detection, and photo player are also developed through the phone application for monitoring plant growth. The smart connected system provides a better growing environment for the plant, regarding innovative technology. |
