Home Automation is one type of residential extension which development is really fast recently. Some traditional home appliances still need an Infrared remote to control its operation. The remote of those appliances just embedded with a simple timer and have no sensing function. As a result, the condition inside the houses cannot be maintained at a comfortable level. People inside the house may get sick if the indoor conditions have a great change in short period of time. Before design a programmable Infrared remote controller, some similar devices from the market were examined. It was found that most of the device required a smart phone to use as a screen and for data storage. Some of them need a stable wireless connection either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. In this project, a prototype of standalone Infrared remote controller embedded with temperature and humidity sensor is developed. The controller has its own touch screen for user to setup multiple target temperature and humidity levels for adjust the indoor condition by sending Infrared signals to their home appliance even they do not have smart phone or wireless connection.en_US
