Abstract: | As the e-commerce online shopping concept appear (Doherty, Ellis-Chadwick, & Hart, 1990), the logistics industry is developing. However, small start-up delivery firm difficult to survive in the industry since they only had limited operating cost to run daily operations. To solve this problem, using mobile to replace high-cost delivery device is one of the ways to increase the efficiency of work to reduce the total operational cost. The aims of the project are to develop a simple and reliable logistics management system for the small start-up delivery firm. It would be separate with three components, front-end web management system and a mobile application for driver and customer. We expected that the front-end system could manage the service request from the client. In addition, the mobile application for the driver keeps tracking their coordinate and update them to the database, that information could do the route and schedule optimization. And the mobile application for the customer allows them to check the real-time location of their orders and request the delivery service. In comparing with advanced shipping system, the project would be a focus on simplifying the procedure of the delivery process to decrease the operating cost and improve the small firm competitiveness. |
