Abstract: | A non-enzymatic electrochemical glucose sensor by using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) self-assembled on (3-Mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPTS) polymer with three-dimensional structure was fabricated. The effective catalyzation of oxidizing glucose in Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH 9.2) was efficiently achieved by AuNPs without any enzymes. The redox reaction occurred at the approximately 1.6 V. The MPTS modified AuNPs gold electrode showed an excellent sensitivity of glucose concentration up to 10 μM and high repeatability by using amperometric sensing. Besides, some interesting sensing behaviors of glucose have been found with the presence of aspartame in the solution. Instead of appearing independent response for each substance, low concertation of aspartame tends to hinder the response of glucose as well as lowering the oxidizing potential to 1.4 V. It is perceived that a prospective application on detection of aspartame in glucose solution can be further developed for this MPTS modified AuNPs gold electrode. |
