Abstract: Internet of Things (IoT) is the trend in the society nowadays. It would become as an important technology in the future development. LoRa (Long Range) is one of the potential IoT solution such that it could apply to smart city, smart home, smart business and smart monitoring, etc. It is a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) and have advantages on low cost, low power consumption and long-range communication. In this project, it would implement an infrastructure of LoRaWAN with the hardware devices (node devices and gateway), network server and application server. The radio frequency band of the LoRa infrastructure used is 923 MHz in Hong Kong (the unlicensed band also called AS923). Arduino IDE and CoIDE are used to develop and program the node devices. The device terminal is based on LoRa class A structure, which is the most energy efficient compare with LoRa class B and class C structure. By using different sensors, it could apply for different applications. After collected the sensor data, it will be upload to the network server and application server. The application developer could view and monitor onto application server. The LoRa infrastructure is successfully implement. This enable future apps to be developed using the infrastructure.
