Abstract: The technology of Augmented Reality nowadays is popular for its ability to make the interaction between the real world and the digital world. Such concept can also be used in music, especially for the development of spatial audio technology which allows placing the audio source anywhere in 3D space. Head-Related Transfer Function, a transfer function showing how a sound from a specific direction in 3D space come to one’s ears, can be used as a bridge between ordinary audio and spatial audio. This project aims to provide the user with a Real-Time Audio Processing Android Application to enhance the enjoyment of music. By decoding audio files provided by the user and transferring them to spatial audio using Head-Related Transfer Function, when the user rotates the mobile phone, the program would do the real-time audio signal processing so that the user will feel like the sound source is changing according to the rotation angle read by gyroscope in mobile phone. With the help of such an application, the user will be able to enjoy the 3D audio when wearing a headphone.
