Abstract: | In this decade, the dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) was highly developed in different area especially the pocketable and array system. For the application, the DRA will be selected due to the characteristic of lower metallic loss, wider bandwidth and higher efficiency for different excitation method. In most of the case, material considered as the dielectric material of a DRA should having the dielectric constant with higher than 10 (ε𝑟 > 10). As the 3D structure of DRA, the flexibility of antenna design is much higher than the traditional antenna (such as monopole or patch antenna) as the size, shape and number of layer (hollow antenna) are easy to be adjusted. In this project, the dielectric material for the DRA is the mixture of Barium Strontium Titanate (BST), 4-tert-butycatechol (BTC) and Thermoplastic Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (COC)-6210 in Xylene which having the texture of gel and hardening after drying and heating. To testing and designing the satellite service (10.7 – 12.7 GHz) antenna, 3 design will be included. The characteristic of this novel DRA can achieve the complicated structure and requirement of application much more easy compare with the traditional antenna (and DRA). Therefore, this novel DRA is potentially attractive in the market. |
